For days , we had been waiting for her.
We heard the jingle of her bangles, the rustle of her sari and inhaled the fragrance of the flowers she wears.
We were rewarded as we are every year by her visit.
It doesn’t mean she was away anytime. How could a mother leave her children alone?
But we are naughty children who get too busy with the toys she has left for us to actually notice her presence at times.
The sky is brighter, the birds seem happier, the grass in our own place is greener than ever.
Mother is here once again to remind us of home.
May she who illumines all, illuminate our path.
