Myanmar's rulers are continuing flagrantly to defy popular world opinion and have cooked up an excuse to continue detaining the ailing leader for democracy Suu Kyi.

While this is not the first instance of the free world blessing through looking the other side , defiant autocrats, generators of terrorism, military juntas, dictators and tyrants, we continue to live in the hope that somewhere, sometime a powerful hand will be raised to protect the obviously just, when they are being obviously persecuted.

Hope? How is any hope sustainable, when there is such callous indifference to world opinion on the part of the junta and such total emasculation in the ranks of all possible helpers?
Bilateral trade with Myanmar seems to be of greater value than the freedom/health of this outstanding, spirited leader of a democratic movement whom no currently available force on earth can save!

I hope most if not all Medhavis have had a look in at

I am sorry not to have drawn your attention to it earlier.
Let us all in our hearts silently wish Suu Kyi far happier returns of her birthday. She is 64 today and has spent 14 years in imprisonment.
