As West Asia fragments in the wake of the US-Israel-Iran war and South Asia recalibrates following India’s high-precision stand-off strikes in Operation Sindoor, the formalization of the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement (Pakistan-Saudi-Turkey) marks a major structural shift in Eurasian security. While public narratives frame this treaty as a routine trilateral defense initiative, a game-theoretic lens reveals a far more complex architecture: a Nested Game.

In this framework, the localized Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and South Asian security environment (G₂) does not operate in isolation; it functions as a sub-game lever deployed simultaneously by China (via active instigation and real-time ISR fusion) and the United States (via tacit condonation, tariff coercion, and strategic leverage) to alter India’s payoff matrix in the macro-game (G₁) of global trade, energy, digital infrastructure, and data sovereignty. These actors function as independent players with convergent incentives to reduce India's strategic bandwidth.

This article models the multi-layered mechanics of this dual-lever matrix and outlines how New Delhi can neutralize the localized sub-game without surrendering its foundational Strategic Autonomy.
