Vigilance, Community Style, not Vigilantism
The Hindu has published a feature article today by Professor Sreeram Chaulia of International Affairs Department, Maxwell Center, Syracuse University, USA, on the need for reviving and strengthening traditional techniques of protecting a neighborhood or community, which have tended to disappear in the Indian scene, with more and more support being available for a person's privacy than for satisfying his neighbor's curiosity.
Professor Chaulia has authored other articles too on the scourge of international terrorism and his ideas for containing it.
